Why live at Founder's Square?

Are you ready to step up to a beautifully crafted Colonial home in a subdivision intelligently designed for today's busy lifestyle? Founder's Square is a planned community with 3 parks and walking paths in close proximity to the University with its educational and other affiliated buildings. Founder's Square is designed with smaller individual lots to conserve your precious time and the expense of maintenance, but then provides a quieter conversation square in the center of the neighborhood, an activity park for rough-and-tumble fun, an elevated view-park with wonderful vistas of the valley/town/incredible sunsets.

Several floor plans ready to choose from; YOU choose your HOME/your LOT/your VIEW/your COLORS-all of this from an expert team of builders who have your full satisfaction in mind. Lot prices vary from $55,000 to $79,000. Homes vary from entry-level to age-in-place to room-for-growth to custom-designed-on-exceptional-view-lots. Most lots will allow basements.

All listed home prices are based upon a $59,900 lot. Price of home includes $4000 for landscape of front (and side yard on corner lots) which must be complete prior to move in.

Energy efficient homes are less costly to own, operate and maintain, and they are more comfortable.  That is why Whisperwood Homes has worked hard to implement the most updated and cost effective methods and products to ensure that each home they build is energy efficient and comfortable.

The majority of heat loss in a home is a result of heat escaping through the windows, doors, and insulation.  Insulation that is properly installed makes a significant difference in keeping heat inside your home in the winter and cool in the summer.  In our homes, exterior walls are sprayed with polyurethane foam prior to blowing in the insulation, increasing the insulation value as well as sealing the home.

All windows that Whisperwood Homes Corp. uses are Energy Star certified which means less heat loss.  The basement windows are the same great windows used throughout the rest of the home.  Also, Proper flashing around windows and doors, roof, and foundation pushes the moisture to the outside of your home rather than allowing the moisture to find its way into your home.

Whisperwood Homes Corp. uses a dual stage high efficient furnace.  Approximately 80% of the time the furnace is running at 50% capacity which reduces gas consumption, resulting in money savings.  This furnace is quiet and through proper design the home is kept at a more comfortable level.

Because the home is built so tight, we ensure that mechanical means are implemented to allow the home to breathe properly.  Germs, humidity, stale air, etc. need to be exhausted out of the home and fresh air brought in to create a healthier environment within the home.  Also, metal pipes are used instead of flexible pipes, keeping mold and mildew growth from occurring in the valleys of the pipes.  Bathroom exhaust fans are much quieter than standard exhaust fans.

Whisperwood Homes takes pride in some of the extra measures that are taken during the framing process.  Energy heel trusses are used to allow the full amount of insulation in the attic to extend to the exterior walls.  Doing this keeps the heat from escaping through the ceiling.  Click HERE for a picture of an energy heel truss vs. a standard truss.

All outside corners of your walls are reinforced with wood to keep the corner bead on the drywall from popping off easily when bumped into.  All wall framing and floor framing is 16” on center to help with the sturdiness of the floor and walls as well as to strengthen the sheetrock.

Blocking is put where the door knobs will hit the and also where the toilet paper holders, towel rings, and towel bars are placed to provide the extra strength needed there.

Whisperwood Homes feels that house wrap is a vital part of the construction process.  House wrap allows for moisture to escape from the home, but does not allow any moisture back into the home.  This prevents mold and mildew growth as well as preventing wind and rain penetration through your home.

The care that goes into each home that Whisperwood Homes builds goes far beyond the aesthetics.  Our home owners not only enjoy a beautiful home, but also the comfort, the energy savings, and the attention given to every aspect of the home.
